Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas has appointed Shirley Dunn Hanks Director of Sales & Marketing. As an accomplished sales and marketing executive, Hanks is highly skilled in positioning four- and five-star hotels and restaurants as leaders in the marketplace. She has extensive experience in developing talent, building high performance teams, driving revenue and achieving profitability in the hospitality industry.
Prior to joining the Capella Pedregal team, Hanks worked as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Rosewood Hotel’s flagship property, the Mansion on Turtle Creek, for seven years. While there, she was responsible for branding and marketing the launch of the property’s Crescent Spa, re-invention of the Mansion’s Five Diamond restaurant and consistently positioning the hotel as a leader in the luxury market both on a national level and within the local community. Hanks left Rosewood Hotels after being recruited to join Hyatt in marketing their new Dallas luxury residences.
Hanks studied hotel and restaurant management at the University of Houston and has taken extensive communications, crisis management and media training courses during her tenure at Rosewood Hotels. Capella Pedregal luxury resort and residences lies on a 24-acre site at the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. The centerpiece of the resort is the 12,000-sq-ft signature Auriga spa, wellness and fitness facility.
