For the seventh time since 1997, Catholic pilgrimage tour provider Regina Tours is offering a unique itinerary for World Youth Day, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from Sunday, July 21 to Monday, July 29, 2013.

Regina’s nine-day tour takes travelers on an exploration of the culture-rich city of Rio, while providing access to all World Youth Day ceremonies and festivities.

The activity-packed World Youth Day itinerary takes pilgrimage-goers on guided tours of Rio de Janeiro, including visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the historic buildings of Cinelandia Square, the National Museum of Arts, the National Library of Brazil and Theatro Municipal.

Throughout the week, travelers will partake in daily Catechesis sessions in the mornings and festival events in the afternoons and evenings.

Highlights of the week include the opening ceremonies on Tuesday, July 23, the arrival and welcome of Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday, July 25 and the reenactment of Christ’s Passion and Death on Friday, July 26.
