California will play host to the inaugural OneWorld Travel Mart (OTM), which is set for September 27-30, 2012 at downtown San Francisco’s Concourse Exhibition Center. The OTM will connect global destinations and suppliers with U.S. travel trade and consumers.
As a four-day event, OTM aims to distinct itself from all other U.S. travel shows. The first two days will consist of an open buyers’ conference, connecting an estimated 3,000 tour operators, travel agents, media planners and travel writers from across the globe in destination and product training seminars, one-to-one appointments, and open time on the show floor.
The final two days will expand to a consumer festival, highlighting domestic and international destinations, travel experts and entertainment, family activities and last-minute deals to an expected 10,000 Northern California travelers.
“We saw a unique need to deliver an international-focused travel show to the U.S. market, which is such a strong feeder for global travel,” said Sanjiv Agarwal, whose company Fairfest Inc. is producing the event.
“We see OTM developing as a major global travel show in the U.S., to complement leading travel shows like ITB and World Travel Market in Europe.”
Backed by dozens of U.S. and international organizations and media partners, OTM expects 150 exhibitors, representing 50 countries. Booth space is still available with a Summer Special Discount, as are sponsorship options.
Trade registration has also begun, the cost is $20.00 for four days of connections to global travel leaders. Travel World News readers can enter code JAXOTM to receive $2.00 off admission. Admission includes access to all seminars & trainings on Thursday & Friday (Sept. 27 & 28), and expo floor access Thursday-Sunday (Sept. 27-30). The registration fee also gives access to the vendor list, allowing one to make appointments on Thursday and Friday.
