Emirates has appointed One&Only Resorts to manage the luxury resort Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area in Australia.

This will be One&Only’s second resort in Australia, following the rebirth of One&Only Hayman Island in July 2014. From early 2015, One&Only will be able to offer two of the most definitive experiences within Australia, showcasing the range of what the country has to offer. Emirates will continue to retain full ownership of the resort.

“Wolgan Valley is such a special place in Australia,” said Sir Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline..

“We are proud of all that the resort has achieved, but now we feel that it is time to work with a partner to expand the Wolgan experience and take the resort to new heights.”

Wolgan Valley is nestled between two of Australia’s most prominent national parks in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, forming the centerpiece for unique experiences and insights into Australia’s wildlife, history and cultural heritage. Occupying just one per cent of a 7,000-acre conservancy reserve, the resort offers incredible experiences through an environmental ethos and has been carbon neutral for five years running.

A central focus of the resort’s heritage is the original farmhouse that stands on the property – the 1832 Heritage Homestead that will continue to be the heart of the resort and center of activity. The resort will continue to actively protect its surrounding habitat and indigenous wildlife species whilst delivering the ultra-luxury experience for which One&Only is known. Guests will be encouraged to discover and explore the incredible natural surrounds and One&Only will introduce a number of unique guest experiences, bringing a renewed sense of vitality to the resort underpinned by the strong sense of place.
