Mark Hoffmann, CTP, has been honored by NTA for his advocacy work on behalf of the tourism industry during the association’s Grassroots Congressional Travel Summit, held in Washington, D.C.
Hoffmann, who served as NTA’s legislative counsel for 25 years, received the James D.
Santini Award, which recognizes NTA members who have made long-term, significant contributions to the association’s advocacy efforts.
The Grassroots Congressional Travel Summit educates tourism professionals on key issues and legislation and facilitates visits with their elected leaders in Congress.
“We’re doing what a lot of people on this planet can never do,” Hoffmann said. “I enjoy working with Republicans, Democrats and Independents because we all have common ground.”
Hoffmann is currently vice chairman of NTA, the leading association for professionals serving travelers to, from and within North America. In 2013, he will assume the top elected leadership role for the second time; he previously led the association in 2000.
