Mazatlán, the popular coastal city of Mexico, will host the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Cruise Conference & Trade Show from November 7–10, 2023, in the newly renovated Mazatlán Business Center. Expected to welcome a record number of cruise executives, including C-suite level executives the conference is the only official cruise event for the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South American markets.
“Mazatlán is famously known as the Pearl of the Pacific, so it is only fitting that we strengthen our ties with the cruise industry, which for years we have welcomed to our ports. We are delighted that the FCCA chose our city as their host base for this year’s conference to plan for the future of the cruise industry. We look forward to highlighting our cultural and gastronomical offerings that make our city earn its nickname,” said Estrella Palacios Domínguez, Secretary of Tourism for the State. “We hope to foster new partnerships to welcome more cruise lines to our ports and increase the visibility of our city across the world.”
The FCCA Cruise Conference & Trade Show aims to highlight the inner workings of the cruise industry and foster relationships between attendees and industry executives to improve the cruise tourism business. During this 4-day conference, attendees can develop relationships with, promote their products, and learn from hundreds of executives from the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association Member Lines. The members of the FCCA are the ones who decide where ships call, the products sold and used onboard, and how to invest in destinations and infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mexico is one of the most prominent players in the cruise industry. It is projected that this year, there will be more than 8 million FCCA Member Line passenger arrivals in Mexican ports. The tourism industry is projected to generate over USD 699 million in revenue for the Mexican economy. As the host city, Mazatlán will further showcase the potential benefits of increasing relationships with cruise tourism. This year, Mazatlán aims to receive over 377,000 FCCA Member Line passengers resulting in a projected USD 26.4 million in direct expenditures.
