As part of a reorganization resulting from the relocation of Seabourn’s corporate headquarters to Seattle, John Delaney has been appointed senior vice president, marketing and sales. In his new position, Delaney will report directly to Richard D. Meadows, who will become president of Seabourn at the completion of the reorganization.
Prior to this appointment, Delaney served as vice president, revenue marketing, for Holland America Line since 2008. In that role, Delaney was responsible for management, forecasting and budgeting of cruise fare revenue, as well as direct-marketing communications and the company’s past guest loyalty program.
“John has had a very positive impact on Holland America Line’s revenue management and marketing efforts during the time he has held that position, and I am certain that he will bring this same success to his new position,” said Meadows. “We look for John to make a great contribution to Seabourn and his strong leadership abilities will help guide the transition to Seattle.”
Prior to his Holland America position, Delaney spent five years assigned to special projects for Carnival Corporation & plc, including a variety of Holland America Line initiatives. His projects focused on financial and operational analysis in a wide array of areas including marketing, sales channel performance, procurement, and logistics. With more than 20 years’ experience in the travel and hospitality industries, Delaney has worked at a number of major corporations, including The Walt Disney Company, Gateway Computers and The Cheesecake Factory. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University in Long Beach. He serves on the board of directors of the Seattle Symphony and is also involved in various organizations dedicated to ending homelessness in King County.
