Great Freedom Adventures has announced three departures this summer of its four-day/three-night cycling tour called Enthralling Block Island, RI Vacation.
The July 10–13 and August 14–17 trips are priced at $2,295 ppdo and September 11–14 is $2,195 (single supplement $500). In addition to cycling, activities include hiking, a kayaking adventure and a sunset sail on Great Salt Pond with wine and cheese, plus swimming.
Overnight accommodations have been selected as an enhancement to the stories and histories of Block Island where guests lodge at the 20-acre Rose Farm Inn that provides, in addition to breakfast and tea, fresh beach towels daily.
Waterfront dining includes one evening feasting on fresh-caught lobster. Cyclists travel eight to 15 miles a day on average.
This program begins and ends at the Ferry Terminal in Point Judith, RI. Daily ferry service to Block Island leaves from Point Judith or Newport, RI, Montauk, NY and New London, CT. All but one dinner are included so guests can explore local eateries on their own one night. Lodging, all breakfasts, some lunches, guides, van support, entrance fees where required and other region-specific costs are included in the tour rate, with the exception of alcoholic beverages and guide gratuities.
Other 2011 US bike tours are six-day/five-night programs through New York’s Hudson River Valley, Vermont’s Green Mountains and Boston’s North Shore.
