2023 & 2024 are major years for anniversaries that celebrate the arts and culture in France. The “1973-2023 Picasso Celebration” includes 50 exhibitions in France, Spain, other European countries and the United States.
Next year, Normandy will commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings and celebrate its essential role as the birthplace—with the Paris Region—of the Impressionist movement.
The Picasso Museum in Antibes (pictured above) celebrates its namesake with a major exhibition from April through June, titled “Picasso 1969-1972: the beginning of the end.” There are several other “Picasso” sites on the French Riviera, including in the towns of Vallauris and, of course, Mougins.
