The team at Bonaventure Resort & Spa, the newest addition to the Benchmark Hospitality International family of resorts in Florida, have announced that the resort’s conference center renovation is now in full motion.

“We are eager to present the latest conference center to South Florida as well as showcase all of the resort’s new amenities which will certainly impress our guests whether they are from the community or abroad,” said Jim Mauer, General Manager of Bonaventure Resort & Spa. “We are always looking to optimize the total guest experience and we anticipate the conference center enhancements along with scheduled updates to the remaining resort including the guestrooms will make Bonaventure Resort & Spa, the ultimate place to stay in South Florida whether it’s for business, pleasure or both.”

The resorts 60,000-square-foot conference center, including a 175-seat amphitheater, will be completely refurbished as well as all the, ballrooms, individual meeting rooms and the entire conference center’s communal spaces. An expected completion date is set for fall 2013.

In 2012, Benchmark Hospitality took over management of the property and announced that the new ownership would plan to make extensive renovations to all its public spaces, enhance meeting technology and increase the use of ergonomic furnishings to International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) standards.

Most recently, the resort opened the new and luxurious aLaya Spa that has more than 48,000 sq. ft., 30 treatment rooms, an elegant relaxation room, a private outdoor heated pool, women’s and men’s private sauna and steam rooms as well as a full service salon. In March, the resort announced the completion of its 18-hole championship East Course at the Bonaventure Country Club that included adding new TifEagle Bermuda Greens, redesigned bunkers and manicured fairways, as well as a full update to the main club area including a new pro-shop and locker rooms.

Future phases of the renovations will focus on all public areas including carpeting, wall coverings and furniture, as well as installation of rich-colored wooden flooring in all guestrooms.
