On Friday, January 16 the first Boeing B787-8 of Avianca departed from the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá en route to New York. The aircraft carried 236 passengers and 10 crew members.
Passengers of flight AV244 enjoyed a more comfortable experience having a wider fuselage, more space in between the aisles and seats, and bigger restrooms. They also had cleaner air, more humidity on board and dimmable windows along the different phases of the flight, making it a superior travel experience.
“We are very pleased to introduce the Boeing 787-8 to our passengers, with its cutting-edge technology and maximum operational performance, making their flights more comfortable and enjoyable,” said Fabio Villegas Ramirez, CEO of Avianca.
The four new Boeing B787-8 aircraft will be operating medium and long haul flights that include New York, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Santiago in Chile, Mexico and as of June serving Madrid, Barcelona and London.
