The Colombian aviation company Avianca was recognized by the magazine Business Traveler. Avianca has been operating for more than 95 years now, making it the second oldest airline in the world, after the Dutch airline KLM.

Avianca was voted the best in Latin America in 2014 by the readers of Business Traveler travel specialist, the company said on Thursday.

The publication chose the best in the world and regions based on a survey of its readers who stressed the excellence of 47 travel service companies in 62 categories.

“Based on a combination of criteria of value and service as route structure, convenience, proximity and culture of care, world travelers chose Avianca as the best airline in South America and Latin America in 2014,” said the company in a statement.

Business travelers’ participants selected in the survey the best travel services companies including airlines, airports, hotels, conference and convention destinations, car rental companies and aircraft manufacturers.
