Long before “green was the new black,” Aruba’s Bucuti & Tara Beach Resorts was paving the way in eco-friendly practices. Today’s travelers, especially millennials, are more conscious of the environment and actively seek out hotels that meet or exceed “green” standards. Bucuti has been at the forefront of the green movement in hospitality for the past 25 years and is forever committed to preserving Aruba’s rich culture and environment by continually setting the bar higher with new practices.

Bucuti proactively takes steps to protect the environment: using solar panels to heat water, which is reused for garden irrigation; using motion-sensor-activated lighting throughout the resort; and buying in bulk whenever possible. Rainwater is also collected and used for irrigation and all welcome signs for guests are recycled from boxes. As part of Bucuti’s mission to provide guests with a total sense of wellness, the resort’s beachfront restaurant, Elements, is Aruba’s first and only restaurant that provides the opportunity to enjoy gluten-free, vegan, or natural and organic dining in the presence of breathtaking views.

The resort has achieved 15 consecutive years of Green Globe Certification as well as the distinction of being the first hotel in the Americas to earn the highly coveted ISO 14001 environmental certification every year since 2003. Additionally, Bucuti earned the Green Globe High Achievement Award and is currently working to obtain its fourth green certification, LEED.

Located on the white-powder sands of Eagle Beach, designated as one of the “Dream Beaches of the World,” Bucuti offers 104 guestrooms, suites and penthouse suites; an infinity pool; a Day Spa; among other amenities.
