airberlin is further expanding its network from North America to Germany with the addition of a new gateway in the United States. The airline’s service from Las Vegas to Dusseldorf will operate twice per week as of summer 2012. With the introduction of the new service, airberlin passengers can fly nonstop from a total of seven gateways in North America (New York–JFK, Miami, Fort Myers, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Vancouver) to the airline’s hub in Dusseldorf. In addition, airberlin offers nonstop flights from New York–JFK, Miami and Los Angeles to Berlin.

airberlin’s first flight from McCarran International Airport will take off to Dusseldorf on May 10, 2012. The flight will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, departing Las Vegas at 6:00pm and arriving in Dusseldorf at 1:30pm the next day. The Airbus A330 aircraft operating on the route offers a two class configuration. In Business Class, airberlin guests enjoy additional comfort and on-board service. Passengers traveling with airberlin on the new route can take advantage of convenient connections via Dusseldorf to six destinations in Germany: Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Nuremberg and Stuttgart, as well as to some of Europe’s premier cities such as Zurich, Vienna and Milan, not to mention connecting flights to the Balearic Island of Majorca and the Catalan metropolis Barcelona.

With the addition of the new service from Las Vegas to Dusseldorf, airberlin continues to strengthen its position in North America by offering new flights and more frequencies on many routes. In May 2012 airberlin will introduce new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Berlin, making it the first airline to service this route. Also beginning with the summer season, airberlin will increase the flight frequency from New York–JFK by offering daily flights to Berlin and Dusseldorf. airberlin will also increase its service from San Francisco to Dusseldorf with an additional flight on Mondays, and from Miami to Dusseldorf on Saturdays further enhancing the connectivity from the U.S. to the airline’s vast European route network.

Tickets on the new Las Vegas flights will start from $499 one way including taxes.
