The Africa Travel Association will hold its 9th Annual Africa Presidential Forum on Tourism on Monday, September 22, 2014 at New York University’s Kimmel Center for University Life (60 Washington Square South) from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Co-hosted once again by Africa House at New York University, the event takes place on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The high-profile event, which offers Africa’s leaders an opportunity to speak about how the tourism sector contributes to a nation’s and continent’s economic advancement, is expected to attract over 250 participants, including front-line travel sellers and providers, airline and hotel representatives, PR companies, media, diplomatic representatives, African diaspora and émigré leaders, as well as international institutions and NGOs, alongside faculty and students.
ATA launched the Presidential Forum in 2006. Since then, 17 African countries and representatives from the African Development Bank, United Nations World Tourism Organization, World Travel and Tourism Council, and the World Bank have participated. Last year, we welcomed the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.
E. Yoweri Museveni.
