The Acapulco Destination Marketing Office and the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Guerrero recently announced a partnership with StudentCity, a tour operator specializing in high school and college student travel. The partnership aims to return Spring Break to Acapulco, one of Mexico’s most popular beach destinations and host destination of MTV’s Ultimate Spring Break in 2010.

“While Acapulco has faced several challenges over the past two years, we believe that the new tourism initiatives put into action by the State of Guerrero, coupled with our partnership with StudentCity, will help us grow this market segment in 2013,” said Pedro Haces Sordo, President of the Acapulco Destination Marketing Office.

The partnership between Acapulco and StudentCity includes a marketing plan that consists of e-newsletter blasts to the StudentCity’s extensive database of colleges and universities; social media integration and sweepstakes offering the chance to win a free vacation in Acapulco; FAM trips for key campus representatives; distribution of Acapulco branded promotional items; and 10 Acapulco-themed campus events throughout the remainder of 2012. The campaign will run from now through February 2013, leading up to the peak Spring Break travel period.
