The Government of Botswana recently announced an increase in the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate, from 12% to 14%, effective from April 1, 2021.
Sanctuary Retreats is reminding it’s travel partners that there will be no increase in the 2021 rates of the Sanctuary Retreats camps in Botswana and the VAT increase will be absorbed. There will also be no increase in the rates of existing bookings for 2022 and all new bookings for 2022 confirmed and the deposit paid before the 2022 rates are published (expected early April 2021).

Sanctuary Retreats further comments “we’re confident that this will come as good news and please make sure you confirm any new bookings for 2022 very soon to benefit from this policy. There may be increases in additional charges from third-party suppliers which are subject to VAT, such as flights and road transfers, so please check these before booking.
