The renovations, set for launch on November 1 in time for the high season, are highlighted by the addition of two 12 metre and 7.5 metre water slides to the main pool, one of three expansive lagoon pools at the resort, which are fully staffed by highly trained attendants.
All rooms at the 524-room resort located a short walk from Karon beach and created around a Thai village concept, have now also undergone major refurbishment with the final 100 rooms set to be completed by late October.
Other upgrades include the installation of a state-of-the-art high-speed optical WiFi system throughout the hotel as well as changes to the breakfast and buffet dining areas, which have been modernised to offer more light, additional seating and buffet counters.
“We are delighted to complete our upgrades ahead of the high season so that we can optimise the guest experience here and add a healthy dose of outdoors fun and enjoyment for all families and children,” said Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa General Manager Philip Raiss.
The improvements are the final touches to an ongoing and dedicated programme to keep the resort in top condition which have included adding a Lavazza coffee corner and new flat screen LED TV’s in all rooms in recent months.
Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa also recently launched a series of complimentary activities for children including Shaken and Stirred fruit cocktail making classes utilising mango, mangosteen, rambutan and bananas as well as a Junior Chef cooking classes focusing on Thai cuisine.
