The Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau rounded out 2013 with an array of new excursions. With an increasing number of visitors each year, Cancun’s ancient Mayan roots, tropical jungles and pristine beaches bring guests from all around the world unique activities that create fond memories that make lasting impressions.

To start off the year, the Cancun’s Maya Museum will be showcasing its newest exhibition: Mayas, The Language of Beauty. This exposition, which opened December 18, will showcase 130 pieces from the Yucatan, Campeche and Tabasco regions.

On December 20 Experiencias Xcaret opened the door to their newest attraction that honors the famous Xochimilco borough of Mexico City. Tourists can explore 4.6 miles of Venetian-like channels on picturesque trajineras, while they enjoy traditional and live mariachi music and feast on delicious local Mexican staples.

The Xenotes Oasis Maya Tour will let guests experience Cancun’s beautiful scenery and visit four different cenotes, all in one day. These ancient sinkholes were revered by the ancient Mayans and are all associated with the four elements of nature: K’áak or Fine Xenote, Ha´ or Water Xenote, Lik´ or Wind Xenote and Lu’um or Earth Xenote. Visitors will test their skills while they rappel, zip line, snorkel and kayak in this exciting adventure.
