Cameron House is a beautiful and romantic setting, making it the ideal place for a couple to start the next chapter of their lives. Whether that chapter is a proposal, the wedding itself or the honeymoon, this baronial mansion nestled on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond provides the perfect backdrop.

Employees of the resort have become experts at helping potential grooms set the scene for popping the question.

Those preparing to propose have asked the staff to hide engagement rings in everything from ice cubes to entrees … to an island in the middle of Loch Lomond. So now the team at Cameron House has come up with a few ideas of its own about popping the question.

One idea is to arrange for a private champagne cruise aboard the 46-foot yacht Celtic Warrior, which can take a couple across the loch and over to the aforementioned island for a proposal far removed from the rest of the world. Those who prefer time in the water rather than on it can book the VIP couple’s suite at Carrick Spa, where they can luxuriate in a rose petal mineral bath or enjoy a hot-stone massage. If a proposal on land or water isn’t appealing, the sky could be the limit … with an in-the-air engagement on a seaplane, surrounded by the panoramic view of the glistening loch and misty hills.

The next step after “yes” is planning the wedding itself, which is a manageable task thanks to Cameron House’s on-site wedding planner. With elaborate rooms that accommodate up to 220 wedding guests and a culinary team that can deliver on expectations for the finest and most celebratory fare, Cameron House hosts countless wedding ceremonies and receptions.

And of course there are all of those little touches that make a destination wedding at Cameron House truly focused on the charming destination itself. From the Highland piper to the ceremonial sword, and from the grand toastmaster who ensures the entire event moves smoothly to a whisky toast to the new couple… all those elements that make it feel like a truly Scottish wedding can be arranged. Cameron House can even help the groom track down a traditional kilt.

If the bride or groom desires time away with friends or attendants in advance of the wedding, Cameron House provides an ideal golf or girlfriend getaway. The Carrick Spa features Carita and ESPA treatments in 17 rooms, plus an array of thermal and hydro treatments.

An on-site salon gives the ladies a chance to test hair styles and nail colors prior to the big day. The Carrick, a championship golf course, boasts nine holes in the Lowlands and nine in the Highlands; the Wee Demon is a nine-hole course for those seeking a shorter game; and the Claret Jug is a popular post-round gathering place.

Cameron House is located  20 minutes outside of Glasgow (and its international airport).  Guests can enjoy the natural environment of the hotel, which is located in Scotland’s first national park, or venture out a short distance to explore castles, historic sites, museums or a whisky distillery.
