Located within Mexico’s most exclusive beach community along the shores of Riviera Nayarit, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, in conjunction with Punta Mita Expeditions, Punta Mita, and the Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau, has announced the inaugural Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 scheduled to take place July 4 – 7, 2013. Whether it’s surfing, stand up paddle, stand-up paddle yoga, sandcastle building for the kids, a fashion show showcasing the latest in surf attire, or sipping on a margarita as you savor the delicacies of the ocean, organizers say that this fun-filled weekend promises to be one to remember.
“One of the most alluring aspects of The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is our beautiful beachfront location, which will be showcased in every regard as a part of the Punta Mita Beach Festival,” said Carl Emberson, general manager. “We are very excited to unveil this all-encompassing event to guests, involving world-class partners for experiences that range from surfing to fashion to culinary. With something for everyone, the Punta Mita Beach Festival will be another destination event in Punta Mita, a bespoke occasion unlike any other.”
The Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 begins with a welcoming margarita at check-in, a signature touch and taste of Mexico upon arrival. Guests will then enjoy a picturesque sunset on Marietas Beach during The St. Regis Punta Mita Champagne Ritual followed by a gourmet beach barbeque experience with general manager Carl Emberson as guest chef for the evening.
Throughout the four-day extravaganza, the beach festivities continue with various guest activities and culinary experiences, including stand-up paddle yoga and beach yoga at Arecas Pool; surfing clinics for beginners and more advanced surfers with a professional surfer; surfing outings to Bahia Break or La Lancha; stand up paddle clinics taught by leading Mexican stand-up paddle professional Javier Alvarez; a two and five kilometer stand-up paddle race departing from the Sea Breeze Beach Club; a marine safari to Marietas Islands, which includes snorkeling and stand-up paddle, all activities offered by Punta Mita Expeditions; a sandcastle championship for kids; lunches at Sea Breeze with renowned Latin Fusion cuisine by Chef Hugo Gutierrez on Friday and the awards lunch on Saturday with gourmet burgers and hotdog booth; sunset cocktails by Don Julio and music by the pool; a pop-up restaurant with celebrity guest Chef Diane Dimeo as well as a farewell dinner in the gardens of Marietas; and classic surfing movies for all. For those interested in learning more about what’s trending on the beach, a fashion show has been created highlighting the best surf looks for the season. And, for the younger ones, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort will screen an iconic surfing movie under the stars with a beach bonfire, complete with s’mores.
On Friday, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort will also offer a unique evening where Mexico meets Hawaii while dining on the beach. Street-style tacos will be combined with a traditional Hawaiian luau for a one of a kind dining experience. Specialty cocktails will be prepared by mixologist Oliver Atkins while the sounds of reggae beats create a memorable environment.
The inaugural Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 at The St Regis Punta Mita Resort includes three nights’ accommodations, your choice of any of the scheduled activities and events, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Rates for the Punta Mita Beach Festival 2013 package begin at $1,290 USD in a Deluxe Ocean View Room plus 19 percent tax and a 10 percent service charge per person.
