Vantage Deluxe World Travel has announced the newest addition to its adventure travel offerings, Iganyana Tented Camp. Iganyana is a Vantage-exclusive safari camp located in a private concession on the borders of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s flagship safari destination. The camp can be enjoyed on three of Vantage’s deluxe African journeys: Best of Africa: South Africa, Zimbabwe & Botswana; Ultimate Africa Adventure: Southern and East Africa Deluxe Safari; and Waterways of Southern Africa; A Luxury River Cruise Safari.

The Iganyana Tented Camp combines classic African adventure with all the comforts of home. Set among Zimbabwean teak trees, looking over a wide, dry river bed, Iganyana is unfenced and unobtrusive, thanks to its thoughtful design and nature-friendly construction. The 15 spacious safari tents are linked by winding walkways of red river sand, and the raised wooden deck of the dining area and lounge. Safari game drives and walking safaris are led by Iganyana’s qualified and experienced safari guides through Hwange National Park, the largest and oldest in Zimbabwe, boasting some of the most diverse animals of any national park in the world: more than 100 species of mammals, including all of the Big Five, as well as over 400 species of birds. Hwange is also famous for having one of the largest elephant populations in the world, the “Presidential Herd.” More than 500 wild African elephants in 17 extended family groups make up the “Presidential Herd”, named by Robert Mugabe in 1990 after he awarded it a presidential decree to protect the elephants from culling and trophy hunting.

Despite its understated simplicity, Iganyana makes no compromise on comfort. Each of the luxury tents has electricity, en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, flush toilets, fluffy white towels, crisp cotton bed linen, soft robes, and slippers. Gourmet meals, snacks, and teatime treats are prepared by a thoroughly trained executive and incorporate locally sourced, seasonal produce.

“Imagine relaxing around a campfire under shooting stars, sipping a glass of wine after a gourmet meal, when suddenly the ground starts to rumble under the steps of hundreds of buffalo, or, over breakfast, you spot a herd of elephants taking a drink from the water hole,” said Henry R. Lewis, CEO, Vantage Travel. “Guests at Iganyana will experience these once-in-a-lifetime moments: an authentic African safari experience with an element of luxury that only Vantage can provide.”
