The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) is inviting travelers to enjoy several planned festivals and events this fall.

September starts with a bang with the 2nd edition of Lockn’ – Interlocking Music Festival in Arrigton, Virginia, September 4 – 7. Featuring headliners such as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers Band in their last festival appearance ever, Willie Nelson, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, and Wilco, this music celebration is an event not to be missed.

Music lovers will also not want to miss the 15th season of the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival, September 7 – 18. The festival presents a wide variety of classical music played by a very diverse group of internationally acclaimed musicians.

Celebrate the harvest and the legacy of revolutionary gardener Thomas Jefferson at the 8th annual Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello, September 12 & 13. Taste a bounty of heirloom fruits and vegetables and learn about organic gardening and seed-saving during this fun, affordable, family-friendly festival – unlike any other – held on the breathtaking West Lawn of Jefferson’s Monticello.

Beer aficionados are invited to gather at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion on September 20th for the 4th edition of the popular Top of the Hops Beer Fest. Top of the Hops will showcase the growing popularity of craft beers from around the country and the world in a relaxed and friendly environment. Patrons will have access to two-ounce samples of over 150 craft beers in the Abita, Blue Mountain, Goose Island, and Miller’s Downtown Beer Gardens.

On September 26, the Tom Tom Founders Festival returns with a free event, The Fall Block Party at McGuffey Art Center. This event brings great bands, public art, food trucks, and a beer garden to the front lawn of Downtown Charlottesville’s historic schoolhouse-turned-gallery. Step inside for open artist studios and a C’ville tech social. The Block Party also celebrates the launch of Founding C’ville, an initiative honoring innovators, artists, and community leaders who create great things in Charlottesville, by featuring their profiles on lamppost banners across the Downtown Mall.

Fall will bring an array of notable performers to Charlottesville, including Daryl Hall & John Oates, Eric Church, Justin Moore, Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion and The Head & the Heart. With awesome venues such as the nTelos Wireless Pavilion, the John Paul Jones Arena, the Paramount Theater and the Jefferson Theater, these shows promise to provide a memorable experience.
