The United States, which sent some one million tourists to Spain over the first ten months of the year 2013, will attend FITUR 2014 in order to present its marvelous natural heritage, its most important cities and the charms of the different neighborhoods and districts that make up some of the best-known cities in the world, such as New York.

In 2012, the United States was ranked first in the world in terms of income generated by foreign tourists, based on a figure of 126,000 million dollars. It was ranked second in terms of the number of foreign tourist arrivals, namely 67 million visitors. North America as a whole witnessed a 4% increase in its number of tourists and, specifically, the United States achieved the best results with a 7% increase.

Consolidated as one of the leading events for the tourist industry, the International Tourism Trade Fair, an event organized by IFEMA, will turn FERIA DE MADRID into a world showcase for the industry from 22 and 26 January 2014 next and will reinforce even more the bonds between both countries.

This trade show, which marks the beginning of the international calendar of events for the industry, will offer professionals the means to implement their marketing strategies through an extensive exhibition of destinations, not to mention the different tools and forums proposed by FITUR. Participants will also be able to learn about the latest technologies to help them boost their operations and face the challenges of a constantly-evolving world market. Meetings such as Fitur Know-How & Export, Fiturtech, Fiturgreen, Investour Africa, Fitur B2B, Receptivo España (Inbound Spain) and Fitur LGBT, not to mention the meetings organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Exceltur and Cimet Forums, among others, all help to shape a business event of the first order, one where the leading players within the travel industry can strengthen their relations and gain access to new marketing, management and promotional channels for their tourist products and destinations.
