Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean & Mexico Resorts’ (MARCAM) marketing team has been recognized by Marriott International, Inc. as the 2012 Global Leadership Marketing Team of the Year. The team, which includes Michelle Bozoki, Director of Marketing and eCommerce for Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean and Latin America Resorts, as well as Amanda Cosanni, Marketing Manager, and Melissa Machonis, Marketing Coordinator, was also recognized in North America with Marriott International, Inc.’s regional Continental Leadership award. Both awards recognized the team for its strategic efforts to target the next generation traveler via social media.
Throughout 2012, the Collection executed an intensive social media campaign that included, among other efforts, two creative social media contests through Facebook. These efforts grew the number of page likes from 4,736 in January to 22,123 at the end of December and led to an increase of 25.1 percent in engagement by fans.
“This is a tremendous honor for our team,” said Bozoki. “We are very fortunate to have a group of talented and creative people here who enjoy what they do and work hard in developing innovative programs to reach both new and existing customers.”
A total of 490 teams were nominated from 40 countries across the world. The MARCAM team was the only winner from Marriott’s Caribbean and Latin America Resorts Collection.
The Global Leadership Awards are Marriott’s annual tradition of recognizing leaders and teams from Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing and eCommerce.
