Management of The Umstead Hotel and Spa have announced a July 8 reopening for The Umstead Spa. A three-month renovation program has expanded the spa’s facilities.

“All aspects of the spa experience will be heightened, from state-of-the-art equipment to new relaxation areas in a variety of beautiful indoor and outdoor settings,” said spa director Carolyn Doe. “Our ultimate goal is to provide personalized, world-class spa experiences that suit the wellness needs of all of our guests, and cater to the growing number of couples who seek the opportunity to enjoy intimate spa time together.”

The expansion brings The Umstead Spa’s total area to 16,000 square feet of relaxation and treatment space, spanning two floors.

A major focus of the spa renovation has been to heighten the couples’ experience through new facilities and programming. Upon the spa’s reopening, couples will have access to three dedicated treatment rooms, each with a private deep-soaking tub, a new coed relaxation lounge, and an open-roof coed current pool with 12-foot-high privacy walls that frame the Carolina blue sky above. A Couples Spa Experience Package, created just for the reopening of The Spa, will pair an overnight stay and late check-out with a choice of treatments to enjoy individually or together. This couples-centric package is offered with rates starting at $519, plus tax and service.
