St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation Plans Sustainable Tourism Conference, Appoints New Public Relations Officer



The St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation has announced the appointment of Ms. Teena Lopes as the New Public Relations Officer. Ms. Lopes has been working with the department since February 2011 where she started as an Airport Information Officer at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Airport. She is well known in the community and has a strong Tourism background where she studied hospitality management on the island of Curacao.

Commenting on her appointment “one of my first tasks is to get the Tourism Office more involved with our Carnival in the form of Cul-tourism, said Ms. Lopes. We will also seek to organize an annual food and culture festival which could be held during the off season. The STDF normally celebrates Tourism Week during the month of September, however this year during this period the STDF will seek to organize the islands first ever sustainable tourism conference.”
