Belize’s Chabil Mar Resort Offers Unique Whale Shark Dive Package April-June

Whale Sharks, the largest living fish, congregate near Gladden Spit off Placencia, Belize to feed on plankton and other spawning fish. Slow moving, filter-feeding sharks, these gentle giants typically gather only during the full moon of March – June.

Due to the Whale Sharks relatively brief stay and local protection/conservation efforts, Whale Shark diving is extremely limited, but this package offers a rare opportunity to swim with these amazing aquatic creatures. Chabil Mar offers a Whale Shark Dive Package that includes three Whale Shark dives, two world-class reef dives along the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere, and 7 nights at the luxury Chabil Mar Resort.

On non-dive days, guests can explore Mayan ruins, hike the trails of the world’s only jaguar preserve, or trek up the Monkey River where nature abounds. Or simply relax in one of the resorts villas, private verandas, or lounge poolside or on the white sand beach at Chabil Mar.

Because Whale Shark dives take place two days after the full moon for a five day period, suggested travel dates for 2012 are:

Full Moon April 6th – Dates to Book: April 6th – April 12th
Full Moon May 6th – Dates to Book: May 6th – May 12th
Full Moon June 4th – Dates to Book: June 4th – June 10th
